India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, has announced a price hike across its passenger vehicle portfolio from June 2026. The automaker confirmed that prices of its cars will increase by up to Rs 30,000, depending on the model and variant.
The company stated that the decision comes amid rising input costs, inflationary pressures, and a persistently adverse cost environment. According to Maruti Suzuki, it has been trying to absorb the increasing expenses through internal cost-saving measures over the past few months, but a portion of the burden now has to be passed on to customers.
Price Hike Effective From June 2026
The revised pricing will come into effect from June 1, 2026, and will apply across the company’s Arena and Nexa model lineup. However, the exact increase will vary depending on the vehicle.
Maruti Suzuki currently retails a wide range of vehicles in India, including popular models such as the:
- Maruti Suzuki Swift
- Maruti Suzuki Dzire
- Maruti Suzuki WagonR
- Maruti Suzuki Brezza
- Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
- Maruti Suzuki Baleno
- Maruti Suzuki Fronx
- Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
- Maruti Suzuki Invicto
The company has not yet disclosed model-wise revised prices.
Rising Costs Continue to Impact Automakers
Maruti Suzuki is not the only automaker revising prices this year. Several car manufacturers in India have either already increased prices or are reviewing pricing strategies due to rising commodity prices, logistics expenses, and foreign exchange fluctuations.
Industry experts believe the ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia and higher raw material costs have added pressure on automotive supply chains globally. Reuters reported that disruptions in global trade routes and energy markets have significantly impacted input costs for automakers.
Previous Price Revision
This is Maruti Suzuki’s first major price revision in 2026. The company had previously increased prices in April 2025 by up to Rs 62,000 across select models.
Despite the price hike announcement, Maruti Suzuki continues to maintain a strong position in the Indian passenger vehicle market, thanks to its extensive portfolio, wide service network, and strong demand in both urban and rural markets.
Should Buyers Wait or Buy Now?
Customers planning to purchase a new Maruti Suzuki vehicle may consider booking their cars before the revised prices come into effect in June. Since the hike will vary across models, entry-level hatchbacks and high-demand SUVs could also see noticeable price adjustments.
More details regarding variant-wise price revisions are expected to be announced closer to the implementation date.
