German luxury carmaker BMW has officially opened pre-launch bookings for the new BMW X6 M60i in India, marking the return of the brand’s flagship coupe-SUV after its discontinuation in 2023. The high-performance luxury SUV is expected to arrive as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and will sit near the top of BMW India’s performance SUV portfolio.
The new X6 M60i was recently showcased in India ahead of its official launch and is likely to be introduced in the coming months. Industry reports suggest an expected ex-showroom price in the range of ₹1.40 crore to ₹1.55 crore.
Bold Coupe-SUV Styling Returns
The latest-generation BMW X6 retains its signature coupe-inspired silhouette with a sloping roofline, muscular stance, and aggressive road presence. The SUV features BMW’s illuminated kidney grille, sleek adaptive LED headlamps, large air intakes, gloss black accents, and massive 21-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, slim LED tail lamps and quad exhaust outlets add to the sporty appeal.
Inside, the cabin is expected to feature BMW’s curved dual-screen setup, premium leather upholstery, ambient lighting, M-specific detailing, and a host of connected-car technologies. International-spec models also come equipped with advanced driver assistance systems and a panoramic glass roof.
4.4-Litre Twin-Turbo V8 Under the Hood
Powering the BMW X6 M60i is a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The motor produces around 523 bhp and 750 Nm of torque and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
BMW claims the luxury performance SUV can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, putting it firmly in super-SUV territory.
Expected Rivals in India
Once launched, the BMW X6 M60i will rival performance-oriented luxury SUVs such as the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe, Porsche Cayenne Coupe and Audi SQ8.
The return of the X6 is expected to strengthen BMW’s presence in the niche but growing luxury coupe-SUV segment, especially among buyers looking for a mix of performance, exclusivity, and distinctive styling.
Booking and Launch Timeline
BMW dealerships across India have reportedly started accepting unofficial pre-launch bookings for the X6 M60i ahead of the official price announcement. Deliveries are expected to begin shortly after launch, depending on allocation and import schedules.
