Hero Launches Vida VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh Electric Scooter With 187 Km IDC Range

Hero MotoCorp has expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the launch of the new Vida VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh in India. Priced at Rs. 1,43,990 (effective ex-showroom, New Delhi), the latest variant becomes the flagship model in the Vida VX2 lineup and focuses on addressing one of the biggest concerns among EV buyers—range anxiety.

With a claimed IDC-certified range of 187 km, the new VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh now offers the highest range in the VX2 family while retaining the same design, feature set, and performance as the existing VX2 Plus 3.4 kWh model.

Bigger Battery, Longer Range

The highlight of the new Vida VX2 Plus is its 4.4 kWh battery pack, consisting of two removable 2.2 kWh batteries. The larger battery increases the IDC-certified riding range from 146 km to 187 km, making it a compelling option for riders with longer daily commutes or weekend touring needs.

The scooter also comes equipped with a new 1 kW portable charger, significantly improving home charging convenience. Hero claims the battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in around 3 hours 17 minutes, while a full charge takes just over 5 hours. Additionally, the scooter supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to reach 80 percent charge in approximately 65 minutes.

Performance Remains Unchanged

Mechanically, the new VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh remains identical to the existing Plus variant. It is powered by the same electric motor producing 6 kW peak power and 26 Nm of torque.

Performance figures include:

  • Top speed: 90 km/h
  • 0–40 km/h acceleration: Around 3.1 seconds
  • Ride Modes: Eco, Ride and Sport
  • Boost Mode for quicker overtakes

The scooter continues to deliver a balance between city usability and highway capability without compromising efficiency.

Feature-Rich Package

Hero has retained the premium equipment list offered on the VX2 Plus. Key features include:

  • 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster
  • Smartphone connectivity
  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Over-the-air (OTA) software updates
  • Reverse mode
  • Regenerative braking
  • 27.2-litre under-seat storage
  • Combined Braking System (CBS)
  • Removable battery technology

The removable batteries allow users to charge them at home or office, eliminating the need for dedicated parking with charging infrastructure.

Charging Network & Availability

Hero says Vida customers can access an expanding charging ecosystem that now includes over 6,000 public fast-charging stations along with 700+ service touchpoints across India. The company also continues to offer flexible Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plans to reduce the initial purchase cost for customers opting for subscription-based battery ownership.

Asia Book of Records Achievement

Alongside the launch, Hero announced that Vida has secured a place in the Asia Book of Records after completing a 12,111 km journey, earning recognition for the Longest Journey by an Electric Scooter. The achievement underlines the company’s focus on demonstrating the reliability and practicality of its electric scooters.
