Hyundai is gearing up to refresh two of its popular models in India, the Hyundai Verna sedan and the Hyundai Exter micro-SUV, as test mules of both vehicles have recently been spotted undergoing road tests. The camouflaged prototypes hint at mid-cycle updates focused on design tweaks, feature enhancements, and improved cabin technology.
The updates are expected to help Hyundai maintain competitiveness in their respective segments as rivals continue to introduce newer products.
Hyundai Verna Facelift: What the Spy Shots Reveal
The upcoming facelift of the Verna appears to feature revised front and rear styling. The test mule seen on public roads was partially camouflaged, particularly around the front fascia and rear bumper, suggesting changes in those areas.
At the front, Hyundai is likely to introduce a redesigned grille, updated headlamp elements, and a new bumper design. The rear may also get tweaked tail lamps and a revised diffuser-style bumper, while the overall silhouette of the sedan is expected to remain unchanged.
Inside the cabin, spy images indicate several upgrades. The facelifted Verna is expected to feature:
- A new steering wheel with Hyundai’s four-dot logo design
- Dual digital screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster
- Updated upholstery and interior trims
The interior layout appears to take inspiration from Hyundai’s latest models, offering a more premium look and improved user interface.
Under the hood, the Verna facelift will likely retain the existing 1.5-litre petrol engines, including the naturally aspirated and turbocharged variants, paired with manual and automatic transmissions.
Hyundai Exter Facelift: Subtle Design Changes Expected
The Hyundai Exter, which debuted in 2023, is also preparing for a mid-cycle refresh. Recent spy shots show the micro-SUV testing with heavy camouflage covering its front and rear sections.
Despite the camouflage, several design elements appear unchanged, including the distinctive H-shaped LED DRLs and projector headlamps. However, the facelift is expected to bring:
- A revised grille and updated bumpers
- New alloy wheel designs
- Possible tweaks to the tail lamp design or light bar
Hyundai may also introduce additional colour options to give the Exter a fresh appeal in the highly competitive micro-SUV segment.

Interior changes in the Exter are expected to be minimal but meaningful. Hyundai could add:
